Club Appeals

  • On September 12, 2019

At our AGM in July 2019 the Football Club made a couple of appeals to the Trust and the wider Morecambe fan base for financial support.

One of these appeals was for funding towards some “essential equipment” for the Club to support the first team, including exercise bikes. The Trust put this to an on-line vote and 60% of those eligible to vote voted in favour of making a £250 donation to the Club which has now been made. Following this donation, the Trustees have agreed that all fundraising in the current financial year will be focused on progressing our Raise The Roof campaign for the home end cover (to find out more, click here).

In addition to the above appeal, Club Chairman Rod Taylor appealed for funding towards the player’s salary budget, particularly to fund an unexpected short-term contract in response to the sudden retirement of Andy Fleming. The Trustees have determined that Trust funds should not be used to fund a playing budget deficit, but are happy to facilitate any funding from third parties towards this appeal.

Morecambe and Heysham Constitutional Club kindly made a donation to the Trust towards this appeal of £100 which has been passed on to the Club. Based at 57 Parliament Street, the Club is always looking for new members and are keen to support our Club.

If anyone else would like to donate towards either appeal from the Club, the Trust are happy to facilitate these donations so please contact us on shrimpstrust@gmail.com.
