Creepy 1-1 Shrimps

Broadfield Stadium, Leg 2, Saturday 16 Nov, 3pm.

We resumed a 3-5-2 with OSullivan and Tutte missing out as Alex K and Sutton came in.
The game was only a few minutes old when Wildig curled an effort just wide with the outside of his right boot. Stockton was released and as is now becoming a tradition with Cole, he hit the post. Conlan had another effort well saved after opening his account midweek and other than a few corners and one free kick which Halstead dealt with, we were the better side chances wise but just before half time, an ill advised Bewitt challenge brought a Crawley penalty, it was dispatched, so we were one down at half time when really we should and could have been out of sight.
The second period saw loads of Crawley pressure early on with shots from everywhere raining in, corner after corner was repelled by an excellent rearguard marshalled by Lavelle. We were finding it difficult to stem the time and so DA changed it positively and early. Off went Old, on came OSullivan, and we switched to 4-4-2 and immediately began gaining some ground. With ten minutes left, the best move of the game created the equaliser. Tanner was freed on the right, he fed at the advancing Brewitt who crossed first time for Cole to sweep high into the net, it was no more thane deserved.
We did try and go for the winner, Kev replacing the booked Cole, but its ended all square to take us off the bottom of the table.
What we have learned? DA sees what we see, it it aint working, he will change it, both times he has done this, it has worked. If we can begin getting it right from the start who knows how good we can be?
