My name is Steve Doran.

I have been watching and supporting Morecambe Football Club regularly since March 2014 and this inaugural League One campaign is my seventh as season ticket holder. I have also had the honor of being Co-Chairman and Chairman of the Shrimps Trust for the last two years.

I initially became involved with the Fans Club of Morecambe at their last AGM and was invited to be a part of the committee. We are now over four and a half years down the line from when the first steps were taken to form the Trust, and I have had a very active and interesting role during my time as a Trustee. One of my primary functions has always been updating the @shrimpstrust Twitter social media account, the Official Twitter feed of the Shrimps Trust, which now has 1,500 followers, and is one of several vehicles that provide our members and followers with information regarding the activities of the Trust.

I do not have any specific formal training or expertise to offer the Trust and its members (my background is manufacturing, engineering and maintenance) but what I do have is enthusiasm, drive and now over two terms worth of experience of being involved with a Supporters Trust at Board level, as a Trustee and Chairman.

Over the last few years, I have been instrumental in a number of projects and initiatives such as the production of the annual Shrimps Trust Morecambe FC Calendar, and the highly successful annual Shrimps Trust Toys and Games Appeal. I have also participated in the early episodes of the ShrimpNet Podcast, and various radio (BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast Show with Nicky Campbell on the morning of the Play Off Final) and television (ITV Granada Reports) interviews.

I can sincerely say that I will continue to give my very best effort to serve the members of the Shrimps Trust, the fans, and the staff of Morecambe Football Club with dedication and integrity. If re-elected, it would again be my privilege to be a part of our “Brand New Bright Tomorrow”.As always, we are “Stronger Together”, whether that be on the pitch, in the stands, or in the Boardroom.Steve Doran
